Al Clarke and The Mean Business is simply put "a rock and roll band with style and ease…and taste" - JD Cross
You would hard-pressed to find a guitarist/songwriter with a deeper background in rock, blues, or folk than Al Clarke, and to be able to ‘experience’ him in a more intimate setting and first-class sound that Alexander Recording Kompany’s main room provides will be even more remarkable. Worth mentioning: Clarke’s first live show in Ames since 2009. If you know him from past stints with Bejae Fleming or The Killer Bees, he needs no introduction. Clarke will have with him the same studio-quality musicians and singers that aided him on both his solo albums, Deadpan Rendition, and the newly minted Existential: Drummer Mark Mathes, bassist James Webb, vocalist Hannah Rae Bird, and Mark Graber. And the performance will take place in the same room where both records were tracked.
Fans of “Austin City Limits,” “Live at Daryl’s House,” and similar top-quality live venues will have a chance to experience this approach here a the ARK. Owner and head engineer Dennis Haislip will be at the helm to guarantee a first-class listening experience for all. Seating is reserved and limited. A second show will be added if necessary.
