Producer / Engineer / FOH
Colby got his start the same way all great audio engineers do, by running live sound for a local rock band. When Dennis and Colby crossed paths in the live music scene, Dennis immediately recognized Colby's talent, ambition, and dedication to the craft of audio engineering. He joined the crew immediately when the ARK opened in 2010, and since then Colby has proven himself as a skilled recording engineer in all genres and project types. Colby has a particularly great ear for recording and mixing hip-hop and hard rock acts, and we highly recommend him for these types of projects.
Engineer / Founder
Dennis Haislip is an experienced audio engineer, with over fifteen years of live and studio engineering under his belt. Since opening the Alexander Recording Kompany in 2010, Dennis has committed himself to providing premium quality recording services at a reasonable cost, and making sure clients always feel at home in the studio. Dennis is also a talented producer, capable of helping musicians and commercial clients alike in developing a sound that perfectly suits the intended audience. Between his dedication to customer satisfaction, and his talent as an engineer/producer, Dennis' leadership ensures that the Alexander Recording Kompany is comfortable, professional, and always producing top-quality audio.
Since building the new studio, Dennis has spent quite a bit of time in Nashville, TN, honing his chops. Shown above in one of the gorgeous rooms at Blackbird Studios. He has been fortunate enough to work with several of the industry leaders while training at Blackbird in Late 2014. Shown here (left) with the legendary producer and engineer John McBride and (right) the world famous Mix wizard Dave Pensado. He has also been blessed with an open door to some of the folks he admires most. Apprentice / Assistant Engineer
Nick is our senior apprentice and the first one brave enough to be an assistant to Dennis. His duties include being super nice to clients, being as helpful as possible to the flow of sessions, and general operations at the studio (i.e., "That sounds great! Do you guys need anything from McDonalds?"). In all seriousness, we have seen great things from Nick! Side note: one day Nick will be a United States Congressman and then maybe musicians can make a living playing music again. hint, hint, Nick!
